Child’s Play @ SXSW

A stealth activation to promote the new Child’s Play movie at SXSW, showcasing the fictional Kaslan Corporation’s creepy smart-home products (controlled by the Chucky doll, reincarnated as an evil AI) and exploiting our audience’s addiction to their own tech devices. Student work.

Welcome to the Home of the Future, brought to you by Kaslan Corporation. Straight-faced ads promoting the house will be featured around the city.

At the conference entrance, attendees join the wifi network sponsored by Kaslan. Who actually reads the fine print?

Inside the smart home, visitors will experience 'killer tech:' robot vacuums that follow and attack, scary outbursts from speakers, intrusive surveillance drones that broadcast footage of you.

Chucky’s image will suddenly appear in the home’s many smart mirrors and appliances.

After visiting the house, the disruption continues around the conference: scary encounters with Chucky at Kaslan charging kiosks, Chucky phone takeovers. At this point, the movie is also more directly promoted

After leaving the conference, the attendees get a final interaction with Chucky: a FaceTime call reminding them to see the movie… or else…
